The date each SSI payment is made in 2026. Payments shown in a different month than you expect are early payments for the following month.

Why did I get two SSI payments this month?
You did not get paid twice. When the 1st of a month falls on a weekend or holiday, SSI for that month is paid on the last business day of the month before. The second payment is next month's money arriving early, so you will not get another payment on the 1st.
- July 2026: you get your July SSI on July 1, 2026 and your August 2026 SSI early on July 31, 2026.
- October 2026: you get your October SSI on October 1, 2026 and your November 2026 SSI early on October 30, 2026.
- December 2026: you get your December SSI on December 1, 2026 and your January 2027 SSI early on December 31, 2026.
As a result, no SSI payment arrives in March, August and November 2026. Budget the early payment so it lasts until the next one; Social Security does not treat it as extra income.
Month by month: no payment in March, two payments in July, no payment in August, two payments in October, no payment in November, two payments in December.
If you get SSI and Social Security
People who receive both benefits get two deposits each month: SSI on the 1st and Social Security on the 3rd. Both move to the business day before when they land on a weekend or holiday, so in some months the two payments arrive on the same day or only a day apart.
SSI payment dates that move in 2026
When a regular payment date lands on a weekend or a federal holiday, the payment is made on the business day before. In 2026, 5 payments move earlier:
- the January payment due January 1, 2026 (New Year's Day) is paid Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
- the February payment due February 1, 2026 (a Sunday) is paid Friday, January 30, 2026.
- the March payment due March 1, 2026 (a Sunday) is paid Friday, February 27, 2026.
- the August payment due August 1, 2026 (a Saturday) is paid Friday, July 31, 2026.
- the November payment due November 1, 2026 (a Sunday) is paid Friday, October 30, 2026.

The November 2026 SSI payment is made on Friday, October 30, 2026, moved from November 1, 2026 because that day is a weekend.
When is SSI paid in December 2026?
December 2026 SSI is paid on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. January 2027 SSI is paid on Thursday, December 31, 2026.
Why did I get two SSI payments in one month?
Because the next month's payment date fell on a weekend or holiday, so it was paid early on the last business day of the month. In 2026 this happens in July, October and December. It is not an extra payment, and there is no SSI payment in March, August and November.
What time does SSI hit my account?
SSA sends the payment to arrive on the payment date. Most banks post it early that morning, but the exact time depends on your bank. Paper checks can take up to 3 extra mailing days.
How much is SSI in 2027?
After the 3.6% COLA, the federal SSI payment standard for 2027 is $1,029 a month for an individual and $1,544 for a couple. The first increased payment arrives December 31, 2026.
